Background: Pain is the most common cause of needle Phobia. In order to overcome this many advanced injection techniques has been implemented. The most recent and advanced technique was using a small vibrating device to the conventional injection technique.
Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of vibraject versus conventional injection technique.
Material and methods: Prospective, randomized, cross-over, single blinded design was carried out among adults above 18 years of age in private hospital in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu, India. Out of 52 subjects, 37 were willing to participate in the study. Split mouth technique was carried out. A calibrated single examiner used an appropriate amount of anaesthetic solution, 2% lidocaine with 1:100,00 dilution of epinephrine was injected slowly and then patient was asked to report their discomfort and pain was noted using verbal descriptor scale. Sign test was calculated to check the efficacy of vibraject to that of conventional injection technique.
Results: The total sample size consists of 37 study subjects. Out of total study subject, 35 subjects reported increased pain score while using conventional injection technique than using vibraject with a significant difference (Z=-5.5, p=0.00). Out of total study subject, 14 subjects reported increased pain score while using conventional injection technique than using vibraject. The p value for 2-tailed sign test shows (p=0.04) there was significant difference between two techniques.
Conclusion: Vibraject has significantly reduced pain both during insertion of needle and during deposition of solution when compared to the conventional injection technique.

Our paper aims for the controllable synthesis of nanoscale zerovalent iron (NZVI) particles by borohydride reduction method. It is a primary and effective liquid phase reduction method for the synthesis of zerovalent iron nanoparticles. Synthesized nanoscale zerovalent iron (NZVI) particles were investigated by a series of characterizations. Each sample of synthesized iron particles was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), powder X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD). Nano zerovalent iron is a promising reagent for in situ reduction of a variety of subsurface contaminants. NZVI is emerging as new option for the treatment of contaminated soil and ground water. NZVI has issued as an excellent catalyst for redox reaction and fenton process due to a large surface area, a higher reactivity, non toxicity and inexpensiveness in environmental remedy.Keywords

Today there is a great focus on reusing the effluent water in the dyeing process. The objective of this research work is to effectively remove colour from textile wastewater using Electro Fenton (E-Fenton) process. E-Fenton process is the combination of Fenton and electrochemical processes. In this study decolorization of Congo red dye was investigated by E-Fenton process in a continuous reactor equipped with iron electrodes. Experiments were carried out in a reactor of working volume of 1L. The degree of decolourisation varies with the operating parameters. The optimal working conditions were maintained with an electrode potential difference of 2V, 40°C, pH 4. For Electro Fenton’s process the parameters giving the highest efficiency were decolourisation percentage of 97%. The process parameters were optimized by using response surface methodology to understand the effectiveness of the interactions of variables when the maximum decolourization can be achieved. The experimental results proved that the combination of Fenton and Electrochemical process was an excellent method for treatment of textile wastewater.Keywords

Background: A lot of health education and promotion theories have been put forward for behaviour counselling of patients in a dental operatory. Among these, the Health Belief Model is one of the oldest theories that stats that a person’s beliefs and attitudes determine the likelihood of a behaviour change.
Aims and Objectives: A systematic review was conducted to assess the effectiveness of a Health Belief Model based educational intervention in improving the oral hygiene status.
Method: An electronic database search was conducted in the months of September 2018 to November 2018 using the keywords of Health Belief Model (HBM), gingivitis, periodontitis and dental caries. Research papers and original articles using a randomized controlled trial design with assessment of oral health status through any standard indices such as DMFT, Plaque Index (PI), Periodontal pocket depth were included in the review. A total of 41 abstracts appeared, after initial screening, duplicates removal, final screening based on the inclusion criteria for the review and full-text availability of articles, a total of five articles were included in the review.
Results: All the five trials using the Health Belief Model as an educational intervention reported an improvement in the oral hygiene status of study subjects in the intervention group which was significantly different to those in the control group.
Conclusion: The Health Belief Model can be regarded as a useful educational tool to change behaviours and help in the development of behaviours that are conducive for the maintenance of good oral health. Further research is warranted to supplement the evidence that already exists to provide a clearer evidence of the usefulness of Health Belief Model in health education and health promotion.
